Bridget has always had a strong passion for teaching. She has undergone Suzuki training from Joanne Melvin at the Chicago Suzuki Institute and Cathy Lee at the Idaho Suzuki Institute and received violin training from Trudy Larson, Holly Barnes, and Kate Withrow. Bridget studied music at Ithaca College, graduating cum laude. Bridget began her studies of violin at the age of six in Easton, CT. She grew up as a traditional Suzuki kid, attending weekly private and group lessons and Suzuki camps. She has had over twenty years of professional performance experience including weddings and private parties, and has been teaching since the age of 14 when she began volunteering at local string programs in the Charter schools nearby.
Learning music is meant to be fun, and Bridget’s lessons honor that! Be prepared to smile, be silly, play games, and hear not just the sound of violin but of the laughter of your child as they begin their musical journey.
Bridget also runs a biweekly group class that’s mixed level - everyone is invited to join. Group class is a great way to socialize, meet the other students, and have fun! Students have performance opportunities in the Winter and Summer for the studios recitals.

Bridget shows incredible patience, has so many strategies to make learning fun, and focuses on small steps to keep her students progressing without making them feel either bored or overwhelmed.

Bridget is excellent with young children (and older ones too, although my personal experience is with my 2 year old). She is patient and makes music fun for my daughter, and I am surprised at how much she has been able to learn and progress. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is considering lessons for their toddler.

"My son looks forward to his lessons and we enjoy Bridget's approach. She is fun and adapts each lesson based on individual progress. We are so grateful that our son is able to continue his violin lessons with someone so patient, talented, and passionate."

My daughter just started lessons with Bridget, and within a few weeks, I’ve already seen improvement in her abilities. Bridget has a strong work ethic, patient, and makes her lessons interesting with games. Bridget motivates my daughter with a myriad of different techniques to instill in her a strong foundation for playing the violin. She identifies areas where my daughter needs improvement but is encouraging at the same time. I would definitely recommend Bridget for anyone interested in learning how to play the violin well.
